Getting to Bergama from İzmir

1. Go to the coach station. This is the intercity terminal, not an İZBAN station.
2. Ask for the Bergama minibus. Show staff this phrase: “Bergama dolmuşu nereden kalkıyor?” (“Where does the Bergama minibus depart?”). Confirm the departure point, next service, fare and how to pay before boarding.
3. Check the destination. Ask “Bergama Otogar’a gidiyor mu?” (“Does it go to Bergama bus terminal?”). Board only after the driver confirms.
4. Get off in Bergama. Ask the driver about the best stop for your accommodation; the terminal and the historic centre are not the same place.

Bergama Municipality describes a direct minibus from İzmir Otogar. Its published frequency and journey estimate are not a live timetable, so confirm the departure on the day of travel.

1. Take İZBAN towards Aliağa. Select Aliağa as your destination in the official İZBAN journey planner. If your train terminates before Aliağa, follow the planner’s transfer instructions; do not assume every service is direct.
2. Leave at Aliağa station. Find Aliağa Aktarma Merkezi (Aliağa transfer centre). Ask station staff for the ESHOT 835 boarding stop if the signs are unclear.
3. Board ESHOT route 835 towards Bergama. The route is named “Bergama – Aliağa Aktarma Merkezi”. Check that the vehicle says Bergama, not Aliağa, before boarding.
4. Choose your Bergama stop. The official route includes Terminal (stop 22990) and Bergama Son Durak (stop 23016). Ask the driver which is best for your destination.

ESHOT says the bus may wait for incoming İZBAN trains, so its posted departure time can shift. Check both official timetables shortly before travelling, especially for the last connection.
